Professor In-Ho Jung received “ChungWoong award” from the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials Society
Prof. Jung received the “ChungWoong award(청웅상)” from the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials Society on October 29 for his excellent achievement in the computational thermodynamic database development and contribution to the improvement of high temperature metallurgical and materials processes and new materials design.
Professor In-Ho Jung and Dr. Marie-Aline Van Ende published an invited paper for “50th year anniversary collections” of Metallurgical and Materials Transactions
This 50 th year anniversary collection is composed of about 30 invited papers from the most distinguished metallurgical research groups around the world. The paper by Prof. Jung and Dr. Van Ende is entitled as “Computational Thermodynamic Calculations: FactSage from CALPHAD Thermodynamic Database to Virtual Process Simulation”,Transactions B, 2020, vol. 51, pp. 1851–1874. Dr. Marie-Aline Van Ende (Research Professor) received “Young Engineer’s award”
Dr. Marie-Aline Van Ende (Research Professor) received “Young Engineer’s award” from the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials for her excellent achievement in Steelmaking process simulation works.
Professor In-Ho Jung has been promoted to Full Professor as of March 1, 2020.
Prof. Jung joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, SNU on September 1, 2017, after he worked for McGill University Canada as Assistant and Associate Professor for 10 years.
Professor In-Ho Jung has been appointed as Board of Director & Editor of ‘Metals and Materials International’ journal
FACTSage Workshop (2020.01.07-2020.01.08)
Annual FactSage Workshop was held at SNU on January 07-08, 2020. The workshop was attended by more than 100 graduate students, engineers, and researchers from universities, national labs, and industry sectors in Korea. Two main themes of the workshop were Alloy design and Pyrometallurgy as usual.
